Not a lot to say about this town as a place to visit really, cheap dvds compared with singapore i guess. But its a great place to get Air Asia flights to and from as its only 30 min from singapore and the flights are a fraction of the cost.

Johor Bahru - JB is the boarder to Singapore in Malaysia. It's not much there either, bur you'll have to change there sometimes bus or taxis when heading to/from Malaysia/Singapore. There are lots of busses and taxis. A taxi to Singapore will coast you around 30 S$.

If you are travelling to or from Singapore, take some time to explore Johor Bahru. There are some lovely shopping centres where you can pick up items much cheaper than in Singapore. There are some lovely hawker stalls where you can have a feast of Asian delights very cheaply. However, although cheap in Johor Bahru, the taxi drivers in particular tend to rip you off and over inflate their prices, particularily if they don't have a meter.

Johor Bahru is a nice city just across the boarder from Singapore. The nigthlife in Johor Bahru is great if you know the places where to go but you have to ge definitely to the Zone. It's a tax free area with lot's of bars, restaurant and as well a shoping mall with a hotel. When you go to the zone make sure that you be there for the happy hour what is takeing place till 9pm and you can get there 2 beer tower for the price of 1. In the blue wave hotel just beside of the causeway to Singapore you will find the bongo discotheque. For the lady's you need to go on Thursday night to the Picollo Restaurant at the Hyatt Hotel as then is Lady's night and that means that Lady's get drinks especially red wine cheaper. In the town itself you can find some different Restaurants. As well you need to go to Slinga Slalu it's a place where you can eat for 24 hours and there you will find lot's of people during daytime more family's and in the night time lot's of young people. On the way to Pasir Gudang there is a big shopping mall named Jusco. Lot's of shops are in there and you can lot's of things and much more cheaper then in Singapore.

Johor Bahru, South Malaysia, Malaysia
I went to Johor Bahru with a friend one day with nary more than 50 singapore dollars to our person. We exchanged this to the local currency and got 100 malaysian ringgit for it. Out of this dosh my friend and I were able to do a lot more than we could have ever done in singapore with the amount. To give you an idea, we were able to .. eat at Sundanese Restaurant and fill ourselves oh so heartily, watch a movie, window shop (yea this one's free), and eat Pizza Hut. Now, if you've been in Singapore long enough - you know 50SGD is not enough fund for all these.
