Kuala Lumpur, West Coast Malaysia, Malaysia

And because a Western diet is typically a sterile one, they are more at risk of ending up with a case of Bali Belly.
Other colourful names for travellers' diarrhoea include Montezuma's Revenge, Trotsky's, Gastro and Delhi Belly!
Travelan is a caplet that should be taken prior to each meal to prevent a runny tummy. I did forget a few times and I must add that not once did I rumble in the jungle while in Malaysia.

Doryx (doxycyline) is used to treat bacterial infections and it works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
It comes in a capsule and shoul be taken about a week before travelling and for two weeks longer after returning home.
This medication is also used to prevent malaria and although this is not a major problem in Malaysia, my doctor recommended taking it.
I did tell him that I would be visiting the jungles and mangroves during my stay there.
