If there was a prize for the friendliest African capital, Maputo would be a winner! The city is easy to go around on foot, has a wonderful and athmospheric market, outside seating in some restaurants, relatively few cars and relatively many trees and some nice galeries (visit Nucleo de Arte for their famous weapons-into-art sculptures) and even a trainstation-turned jazz club.
