Jump on a train for a short ride over to Den Hague: a mixture of historic (from 1600s!) and modern architecture. PLUS, they have cafes so you need not worry bout not being able to have a legal smoke;), as well as a harbour and the seaside.

amsterdam,was für eine stadt!the european dream!!!ich glaube jede amerikanische stadt wäre gerne so liberal wie amsterdam.diese viele kleinen kanäle,ajax und rama.-)hehe,es ist auf jeden fall eine reise wert!!!

It's pretty bad timing to visit Amsterdam. When I was there in late January it looked awful, cos they're working on the canals, which are covered and there's huge cranes everywhere. Find out if the situation's better before you go!
