Having just a few hours to spend in Lima, on our way to the Amazon, we took a taxi from our hotel to a huge native handcrafts market in Miraflores. We had a great time there and found some terrific bargains on beautiful scarves and traditional Peruvian pottery. We arranged for the driver to come back and pick us up in a couple of hours. These taxis, operated by the hotel, were brand new, spotlessly clean, and driven by unformed drivers.
