The centre of gay life in Manila. Seemingly lacking any bars or clubs where you can meet locals. It might sound counter intuitive but it's easier to meet local gays and gay tourists in the straight bars in the area as the gay bars are too much sit down and watch the dancing boys.

Manila is like 2 cities with the old city as you would expect of an asian city and Makati - a very glossy first world city - worth visiting both!

Busy busy place. This is the Philippines so it's easy to find American fast food.. TOO easy, you might say. I thought Quezon City was fascinating, it's loud polluted and crowded.. but it was sure was nice to escape into the countryside. There's a lot of shopping but heaps of poverty too. Try not to get run over or have your wallet stolen. It's helpful if you know people here, they can help you get around town.

Makati is in the heart of Manilla and although it is a buseling part of the city mostly foreigners live there. Shopping for nice major store items can be found here but for a true taste of island crafts and clothing go to one of the other sections of Manila.

Try the restaurant called DAMPA. It's pretty cool, you get to buy the food uncooked and have it prepared/cooked your way. A little expensive but you'll enjoy eating here.

Do not pass up the oppertunity to try duck embrio!! Not the easiest of things to get down but an unforgetable experience none the less! I recomend the 14 day old embrio!!

Tagaytay is a beautiful place to visit the volcano in the sea.
