Warsaw, Mazovia & Podlasie Region, Poland let's go arround the world! Good tip? (0) Warsaw, Mazovia & Podlasie Region, Poland Rasko club - the best place where you can drink some % and spend nice night :) Good tip? (0) Warsaw, Mazovia & Podlasie Region, Poland When walking through the towns and cities in Poland you will notice that locals do not dress in jeans, shorts, or other common casual ways like in the US. I recommend to bring slacks or skirts to fit in with the culture. Good tip? (0) Warsaw, Mazovia & Podlasie Region, Poland Hotel Hera and Hotel Sokrates are good options if you have any links with Warsaw University ... perhaps even otherwise ... Polish soups are earthy with a decidedly 'Polish' flavour to them, not to mention the lovely pierogies and the black currant juice ... and the city is amazing from the viewpoint of its reconstruction after WW2 - so painstakingly done to such good effect - that it is worth visiting sites with this specifically in mind ... a central transport hub too if you are headed anywhere east from Western Europe ... to Belarus, the Baltics or Russia ... be careful in the central train station though as also on trains (the ones to Berlin were notorious at one time, in which you could be gassed and robbed as you slept) though things have improved now ... and Polish train rides are utterly romantic... Good tip? (0) Warsaw, Mazovia & Podlasie Region, Poland To see all the best things go on foot! Good tip? (0) Warsaw, Mazovia & Podlasie Region, Poland Try not to go mad on the streets. Think about great amount of theatres in this city. Good tip? (0) Warsaw, Mazovia & Podlasie Region, Poland Walk around the gigantic palace of culture! A gift from Stalin to the city. Good tip? (0) Warsaw, Mazovia & Podlasie Region, Poland While visitin Warsaw remember to check out the hottest club especially Cinamon, Platinium and each on Mazowiecka Street Good tip? (0) Warsaw, Mazovia & Podlasie Region, Poland There are idiots down at the oldtown area who target people who look like tourists, and actually threaten them with axes (for money), while being vague about whether it is 'street theatre' or not. The police are nowhere to be seen there. The police will however shout at you in English if you attempt to jaywalk any little street. Both the thugs and police wear big boots with the trousers tucked into their socks like pubescent playground bullies. I suggest you also dress 'tough' and be ready for anything. Good tip? (0) Warsaw, Mazovia & Podlasie Region, Poland I recommend visiting "'Powązki". It is necropolis that consists of many cementaries. Some of them are very old, and many greats of Polish history are buried there. Try some pics: http://sowa.website.pl/powazki/Galeria/galeria.html
