There are no ticket machines so better get one before kiosks are closed! (a 24-hour, 3-day or one week ticket is a good idea).
Otherwise you will be imposed a fine, tickets are mostly checked in the night!

Very good transport system in the city. There are night buses going from the main train station each hour during the night. Very comfortable.

Never think of riding bike in a street - keep to the pavement or you'll get smashed. Drivers in Warsaw are famous for their bravado and tend not to see vehicles smaller than theirs. Never leave your bike in a solitary place, bike theft in Warsaw is a national sport and there is no mechanical method to avoid it but simply to keep an eye on the bike.

Hotel Hera and Hotel Sokrates are good options if you have any links with Warsaw University ... perhaps even otherwise ... Polish soups are earthy with a decidedly 'Polish' flavour to them, not to mention the lovely pierogies and the black currant juice ... and the city is amazing from the viewpoint of its reconstruction after WW2 - so painstakingly done to such good effect - that it is worth visiting sites with this specifically in mind ... a central transport hub too if you are headed anywhere east from Western Europe ... to Belarus, the Baltics or Russia ... be careful in the central train station though as also on trains (the ones to Berlin were notorious at one time, in which you could be gassed and robbed as you slept) though things have improved now ... and Polish train rides are utterly romantic...

Trams are cheap and go prettymuch everywhere. Avoid busses, they are crowded, late and in a bad condition.
