Moscow is a great city - if you come prepared. You have to do your best to "blend in" with the locals with regard to how you dress to avoid any hassles from the Russian police as the cops are infamous for "shaking down" tourists for bogus fines. Guys - wear BLACK (black leather jacket, black jeans, black shirt, black leather shoes/boots). Ladies - ask the local prostitutes where they shop you will fit in just fine. Master a few basic phrases in Russian such as the Russian word for "No" which is pronounced NYET. If a Russian speaker asks you a question in Russian, say NYET in a grumpy, loud voice walk off.
