Travel Tips - Sightseeing & AttractionsBeograd, Belgrade District, Serbia Hi friends and all of the travelers, first of all the best sleeping place in whole the capital - Monster Hostel!!! If You're enough polite the couch you will get for 10 euro, and people there are absolutely amazing!!! Not enough that you can cook at your own, then you can prepare some national meals with owners also show them up some of your food :-) and one of the most important thing - internet acces, so not search any other apartment just go straight to Visegradska!
Now what to see - for the real travelers i definitely recomend Zemun, this is an old part of Beograd, quite far from city center and not known, but enchanting, with fabulous view at Danube, this is like little town in big metropoly, feeling like in forgotten place, where on the cementary devils sais goodbye :-) yes, hrams and crkvas so churches and mosques at all are still so alive and nice to visited and watched from outside and inside as well!
Kalemegdan, thats another attractive place to spend a little time inside its walls, close to that place i got sweet and lovely presents for my mum - tablecloth and serviettes made by hands!!! Terrific thing to see is walking down the Kneza Milosa and passing by the old building of Ministery of Defence bombarded by NATO in the end of XX.
The better idea of using mobile there if you dont have Sim Lock is get serbian phone card because calling there is pretty cheap but not roaming! And very important thing, you cant exchange serbian dinars anywhere besides Serbia, so the best idea is to come to country with Euro and exchange it over there
The last thing what You must try - Baklavas!!! Find a confectionery and try one by one, not stay with the one but taste different kinds with nuts, carmel...mmm.. delicious and of course burek, but this you can find some bit far away at the north of Serbia.
Take care of yourself and enjoy your trips and dont forget to take ISIC or Euro26 card because you can get some off :-) Good tip? (0) Beograd, Belgrade District, Serbia just one word: kalemegdan! perfect! Good tip? (0) Beograd, Belgrade District, Serbia The Princesses Palace near the Fortress is a complete waste of time unless you feellike being bored to sleep. Seriously that bad. Good tip? (0) Beograd, Belgrade District, Serbia BEANS is among the favorite local dishes that come in many forms, from soup to chowder, vegetarian and "army style". Beans are cooked with chopped onions, bay leaf and addition of meats, diced bacon or smoked spareribs, with roux in the end. Beans are usually accompanied with sausage, pork chops or similar kinds of meat. Salad is an indispensable accompaniment to beans. We recommend cabbage or roast peppers in oil with garlic. You will appreciate beer or spritzer with it. The theatre is one of the most significant buildings of the 19th century and it decorates the Square - Trg Republike - where is the most popular meeting point of Belgrade. It is built on the base of renaissance architecture plan. Knez Mihajlova Street links Terazije with Belgrade’s most popular promenade, Kalemegdan Park. Laid out in the first town plan for Belgrade, prepared in 1867 by Emilijan Josimovic, it is the oldest and most completely preserved area of old Belgrade. Foreign travellers once compared Knez Mihajlova Street to the most famous trading streets of the largest European cities. The most wealthy and influential leaders of the city’s commercial and political life built their family homes here. Knez Mihajlova was the first street in Belgrade to be named by the administration (1872) and is one of the few streets whose original name has never been changed. Considered the city’s main street from the outset, it remains to this day the most lively trading, business culture and restaurant area. Either from a ship, or from the other side of the river, Kalemegdan is always lovely! Anytime of the year you will find lots of boats on both rivers, from the small, old wooden boats to speed boats, yachts and cruise ships! Also, there is a boat tour organizing sightseeing of the town! Don't miss to see the city from this perspective as well! Good tip? (0) Beograd, Belgrade District, Serbia The sites of Nato bombing are still there ... walk along to see several bombed buildings including a TV tower ...but Belgrade is a beautiful city now with a huge green park at one end where the city's beautiful people go ... and you can catch a local Serbian dance or music performance there... the lively main street leading up it is full of lovely restaurants, shops and people ... sit there anywhere and watch...
