not an amazing hostel, but amazing hiking and lovely lake. It's almost like a cut-price switzerland in relation to the landscape. Cheap beer and beautiful views, and very friendly locals.
I'd recomend this as a stop off, but head to lake Bohinj for a truely breathtaking part of europe.

Make sure you take the electric boat out on the lake to the tiny island with a beautiful old church on it where you can ring the church bell.

If you go to Begunje there is something that you must visit and it´s the Avsenik (Oberkrainer). They´re the most popular folkmusic from Slovenija. In their restaurant you can eat tipical slovenian food and if you ask there´re some programms with life music.And, of course, they have rooms if you want to stay there for a night.You can visit the galerie and shop if you want to take with some souvenirs. And in the near there´s Elan, the slovenian fabrik for skis.

Stay in Ljubljana and take a day trip up to Bled! There is just enough to see in one afternoon thats theres no need to pay the higher hotel prices just to stay the night.

Apart from the lake with the island and the castle it is also really worth to go a bit further and see nearby Vyntgar Gorge. Amazing!!!!
