Johannesburg is unfortunately known for being the third most dangerous city in the world. However there are some very nice places to visit such as the Sun City and also some nice safari to do. There are also some nice shopping complex in Sandton. Food is very nice and I would recommend all meat lovers to have a try there.

Johannesburg. Very dangerous. Travel in a group or by taxi. Must see The Krugar National Park. Undescribable. A must see.

great place to stay is diamond diggers. was only just converted from a brothel when we stayed. loads of rooms, 12 person jacuzzi in the bar area etc, really good

Filet steak for no money at the Grillhouse accompanied by lovely spinach, don't forget to order a local wine. May a 'Allesverloren'!! Don't forget the safari....Don't go to the Mahkavli (?) Lodge in Bella Bella, they're game reserve isn't as great as they think...

I lived in Johannesburg for 10 months and I never had a problem! Everybody keeps on saying how dangerous the city is, but is only dangerous if you are not careful! My host family lived in Soweto, and although people also find it very dangerous, I didn't have problems there. Joburg is just great! A unique city.

Always be alert! Never leave anything unsupervised and make sure you are aware of everyone around you!!
