I would say the best sppot is Melville, 7th Ave A variety of clubs,resturants,lounges and artistic stores

There's not much good thai food in this town, but try the thai restaurant at Nelson Mandela Square in Sandton. It's pretty authentic, spicy, and good! And the prices are reasonable.

Keep your wits about you at the central bus station

Stay in Melville if you want to enjoy Joburg, great bars nice bed and breakfast style accommodation.

Dangerous place, not a lot to visit.
If you want to visit South Africa go to Cape Town or in some national park.

Stay at the Melrose Hotel, but don't go out at night. Don't accept rides from gypsy cabs.

If you ever have the chance and some time left, you can visit 'Gold Reef  City'. It's an stiöö operating gold-mine with an exibition of the old ways of getting the gold out of the ground. 

The Malls are nice, everything available. A lot of outdoor entertainment
