Malaga, Andalucía Region, Spain Malaga has a nice culture, with beautifull landscapes.
The island is not very big, so in one week you can visit everything and learn about the whole history.
Nice things to see: the glass factories, the history of Malaga (musical), the coastline (you can go horsebackriding at sunset) Good tip? (0) Malaga, Andalucía Region, Spain wear lots of sun cream and keep covered up Good tip? (0) Malaga, Andalucía Region, Spain Málaga is know to be the place were old retired brits go to spend some vacations. There's a lot of decadent apartment hotels and some dirty beaches polluted by the passing cars. There's no sites or monuments to see, the people working at restaurants or minimarkets are only there to work so don't expect them to be nice to you. Nightlife is exactly the same that in any other place with those characteristics. Drunk Brits, drunk germans, drunk gays, etc... The food is nice but not fantastic and if you plan to go to sites around it you better rent a car or you'll have to travel by foot. If you want to spend your holidays in an absolutely uninteresting place, Málaga is the spot to be. Good tip? (0) Malaga, Andalucía Region, Spain just check the houses in the centre of town! and visit the giant cathedral! and go out and get drunk at the bars! so much better than those touristy costa del sol places and awful places like torremolinos :S Good tip? (0) Malaga, Andalucía Region, Spain torremolinos mola, en malaga capital hay wena ropa. Good tip? (0) Torremolinos, Andalucía Region, Spain 1. Exchanging Money: Always better with a local business, i.e., place to eat, etc., than at a bank.
2. Danger Annoyances: pickpockets and purse grabbers, ESPECIALLY on a Vespa, everywhere.
3. Interacting with locals: You are a necessary evil. IF YOU WILL TRY and speak Spanish, you will go TWICE as far, porque hablando en Espanol es muy facil.
4. Nightlife: Leave your purse in the hotel under the bed or take OUT a drawer and stick it UNDER the drawer and just bring enough cash and and I.D. and be ready to dance and drink ALL, and I do mean ALL night long until the sun comes up. Then, you crash on the morning beach until the noise/sun is too much, get a bite, then go to the room again, crash, wake up (Dinner starts at 10pm) and start all over again. Life is a bitch, ain't it pard? Good tip? (0) Malaga, Andalucía Region, Spain This has got to be one of the best places in the world to pick up cultured pearls. Once I picked up a Volcanic glass cameo from Naples It. and was able to match the color with a necklace and earrings. Total cost of pearls-$75.00 cost of cameo $53.00. At the time I was married and she had the complete set appraised. Value estimated at $1300.00. Nice deal. Good tip? (0) Malaga, Andalucía Region, Spain its not to bad lots to do nice people Good tip? (0) Malaga, Andalucía Region, Spain Visit the Turkish Baths on the Plaze de Merced - Los Banos Arabes and have a massage and don't forget to go upstairs for the relaxing lie down and cup of herbal tea.
