This has got to be one of the best places in the world to pick up cultured pearls. Once I picked up a Volcanic glass cameo from Naples It. and was able to match the color with a necklace and earrings. Total cost of pearls-$75.00 cost of cameo $53.00. At the time I was married and she had the complete set appraised. Value estimated at $1300.00. Nice deal.

When you arrive at Malaga airport , have a look around for the train station , its only 50m from the exit door, just past the taxies. Taking the train to Malaga itself, or in the opposite direction to the costas of Torremolinos, Benelmadena, Arroyo De La Miel or Fungirola will cost under €5 , compared with the local cabs which will cost from €15-50.... and yes , they will try to rip you off. Also if out (especially around torremolinos/ benelmadena) at night, watch over your drink, a regular problem (but kept quiet ) is muggers slipping powder or tabs into your glass, then helping you outside to be mugged or worse...
