Swam in the chilly Mediterranean Sea here.  Some opted for a trip to Africa (Tangiers) for one day.  There was a high rocky and dangerous cliff near where we swam.  This was the final travel stop by scenic BIG window coach from Granada, to Seville, to Malaga, for a seven-day tour, while I was in high school.  The bus experience was quite exciting.  The TIA plane experience was another story altogether!  The mountains were beautiful and picturesque.  I traveled with my brother for the duration.  I was 14yrs-old.

This is where our tour ended.  I remember ordering fries a t a Wimpy's fast food place and getting mayonnaise instead of ketchup.  This was the final city by scenic BIG window coach from Granada, to Seville, to Malaga, for a seven-day tour, while I was in high school.  The bus experience was quite exciting.  The TIA plane experience was another story altogether!  The mountains were beautiful and picturesque.  I traveled with my brother for the duration.  I was 14yrs-old.

Malaga, Andalucía Region, Spain
Málaga (Andalucía, España) It's a southern city of Spain in Andalucia. It has good beaches and some places to visit. And it also is Picasso's birth place, so there're something about Picasso. - Sightseeing 1. Alcazaba (Fortress) It's a Moorish fortress on the mountain, so it has a great view. You can find the entrance near the Teatro Romano(Roman Theatre). The Entrance Fee is really cheap. If you have a student card, you can get in with just 0,60€ ; unless, you have to pay about 3 €, but still it's not expensive for its good sight. Beautiful Fortress with pretty good garden. 2. Catedral de Malaga It's a beautiful cathedral in the centre of the city. It has a nick name 'Manquita' that means a man who doesn't have an arm(in Spanish 'manco'), because normally it has to have two tower, but because of the financial problem, it has only one tower. You can visit the museum in the Cathedral. The Entrance to Cathedral costs about 3€. 3. Museum of Picasso Because Malaga is Picasso's Birthplace, there are many things about him, and this museum is one of them. If you're interested in his painting, it would be good to visit. On every last sunday of each month, the entrance is free. 4. Castillo de Gibralfaro(Fortress Gibralfaro) It's on the top of the mountain, so if you're going to visit there, you can take a walk but also you can take a lift. Visiting there by walk takes much time and energy. It has a magnific view. You can see whole Malaga, and also Plaza de Toro(Bull fight ring). The entrance fee is same as Alcazaba. Every Sunday, after 2:00 the entrance is free.

Málaga is know to be the place were old retired brits go to spend some vacations. There's a lot of decadent apartment hotels and some dirty beaches polluted by the passing cars.
There's no sites or monuments to see, the people working at restaurants or minimarkets are only there to work so don't expect them to be nice to you.
Nightlife is exactly the same that in any other place with those characteristics. Drunk Brits, drunk germans, drunk gays, etc...

The food is nice but not fantastic and if you plan to go to sites around it you better rent a car or you'll have to travel by foot.
If you want to spend your holidays in an absolutely uninteresting place, Málaga is the spot to be.

When you arrive at Malaga airport , have a look around for the train station , its only 50m from the exit door, just past the taxies. Taking the train to Malaga itself, or in the opposite direction to the costas of Torremolinos, Benelmadena, Arroyo De La Miel or Fungirola will cost under €5 , compared with the local cabs which will cost from €15-50.... and yes , they will try to rip you off. Also if out (especially around torremolinos/ benelmadena) at night, watch over your drink, a regular problem (but kept quiet ) is muggers slipping powder or tabs into your glass, then helping you outside to be mugged or worse...
