Great city, but if you like it more quiet and beautiful goto porto soller at +/- 80km from here, nice harbor city, you'll love it.

palma de mallorca..paradise islad at balearis group two hours with boat from ibiza

we went to cala do'r mallorca which better suits families and people just out for a bit of down time. There are a lot of lovely restaurants around so self-catering is probably the best option, and theres lots for the children to do.

Don't let all the dodgy people that work for local bars and stuff tell you where to eat, drink and where to party in the evening. They don't follow their promises they make at the door. Just look out for a good place yourself and test it. Also don't mess with the doormen in the clubs. They just gather together, beat you down and bail. It will not be possible to have a simple conversation with an average arenal-doorman, of course there are exceptions. Sometimes there's an aggressive atmosphere during the night. Also watch for pickpockets and flower-selling gypsies (pickpockets as well).

Diablito at Porto Pi: stylish restaurant with very good food and fast delivery. Prices are little bit higher but the food is worth it...

Rent a car and drive over the orient... once you pass the village, there is an excellent restaurant / hotel at the top of the climb on the left hand side towards alaro... just drop in for a piece of cake, if you cannot afford anything else
