Goteborg, Gothenburg and Surroundings, Sweden free local transportation. Good tip? (0) Goteborg, Gothenburg and Surroundings, Sweden Only the drive through the city to the ferry is worth your while! Good tip? (0) Goteborg, Gothenburg and Surroundings, Sweden The e-trams in Goteborg are an excellent way to get around, even if you don't know where you are going. Hop on and take a ride to the University Gardens, or the Castle Tower...or just get off near a market to get some pear cider and an almond pastry! Be careful to look for the tram tracks wherever you walk because the trams run almost silently and you don't want to get in their way. Good tip? (0) Goteborg, Gothenburg and Surroundings, Sweden When arraving at the trainstation you just need to walk cross the street to find where you buy tickets and traveling cards for the local transportationssystem. Good tip? (0) Goteborg, Gothenburg and Surroundings, Sweden mamma mia, que bella. It's a beautifull city, you can do a lot of shopping. Good tip? (0) Goteborg, Gothenburg and Surroundings, Sweden Göteborg is a charming smaller city on Sweden's west coast, and it might be hard to realize that this is actually second biggest city in Sweden. With lot of greenery and parks, it is much more relaxing than for example Stockholm or Malmö. Pace and perhaps even attitude is bit different. Göteborg still uses rail transport in city: trams or so called spårvagnar. There are many new models of the trams now, but it is still common even with the old models from 1960s/70s. They might be less convinient with their oddly constructed doors, but in general they are fun... and could actually be considered to be part of the attractions in city. There are quite few museums, churches, a moderate size convention center, stadiums for bigger music and sport events, and not to forget: an opera house. Liseberg is local amusment park and provides rides, fun and events for all from mid springtime until mid september, every year. Recent years they have started with winter holiday events as well (December-January.) Göteborg is one of quite many Swedish university cities. For a smaller city like this, the list of events is usually quite impressive. Decent club scene. Restaurants can be pretty good experience and there are nice places where to treat yourself and your company matching for all levels of economy. Some of the best restaurants are "Pasta etc" (cheap, yet stylish, and very tasty foods), "LaSombrita" (greatest tapas I've ever tasted, anywhere... decent price), "28+" (fine dining and delicious dishes with matching prices), ... just to mention few. Göteborg is said to be one of the best cities in Europe for good restaurants, so make sure to find your favorites during your stay. Good tip? (0) Goteborg, Gothenburg and Surroundings, Sweden The airport bus is a convenient and good value service back to the city centre - but the buses only accept pre-paid tickets or credit cards. To get on the bus quicker buy your ticket beforehand if possible - available at the shop at the airport, or 2 for 1 tickets with Gothenburg pass, which you can purchase there or purchase online. The Gothenburg pass then allows you unlimited travel on public transport as well as entries into attractions in town Good tip? (0) Goteborg, Gothenburg and Surroundings, Sweden If you have only one day to visit Gothenburg and you would like to see and explore as much as possible you should consider taking both the bus and the boat city tours. Taking this trips in three hours you can admire and photograph the major attractions of the city and learn a little bit about its history. The Gothenburg Pass offers the boat trip for free and also can be used for free entry to Gothenburg museums and the Liseberg amusement park. It also offers free parking in borough spaces, but unfortunately it is very hard to find one. Good tip? (0)
