a wonderful and nice place in the swiss alps. most of switzerlands highest mountains are close by. great place for skiing. no vehicels in the village

If you can, sign up for the Klein Matterhorn sunrise trip while you're in Zermatt. It's within walking distance of the village.

You will have to get up at something like 4:00am in the morning (In August) but it's totally worth it because from the observation platform on the Klein Matterhorn, you have the most AMAZING view of sunrise on the Matterhorn.

Plus you end up having breakfast so early that you'll have enough time to make it back to your hotel/hostel for a second breakfast! :p

Dress warm though! I froze my butt off because I was smart enough to wear shorts.

Zermatt. Well I went there for skying so I can say the snow is execellent!!!(I enjoy skying) The food is quite good so be adventurous and try loads of local stuff.

zermatt is a bit on the pricy side but if you are looking for good acc at affordable price with great views hotel whitehorn is the place friendly clean n easy loved the place,listen to the people at night laughing and having fun,,no polution or noise,fad fantastic,,and oh what skiing or snowboarding,,the gornegrat or klein my two favorites..............

You have to see the Matterhorn

One day for Zermatt is not enough. You have to spend time to experience the Matterhon and enjoy a delicious lunch nearby. Remember to get up early in the morning to catch up with the sunrise behind the Matterhon!

Excellent for skiing and snowboarding!! Havent done anything else there...

Do the Klettersteig (Climbingpath for beginners)! spectacular views!

Zermatt is well known. However, l like Saas Fee much more. You can drive your own car there or take a train to Brig and then take the provided post bus, it is included in the train ticket.
