You can survive on very little money in Bangkok but be wary of the locals trying to rip you off. Always take a radio taxi from the airport, not just someone touting for business, as you may end up paying double. The floating markets and the bridge over the river kwai are must do's as is the grand palace! Khao San road is also the place to be at night.

Whenever possible in pubs or bars, order your drink in uncorked bottle and never take your eyes off of it. Even after just one beer you may end up waking next morning with no money and no recollection of last night. I learned this lesson in hard way.

Koh Tao, is the ONLY thai island you need to visit!It is pure paradise, with cheap beach front bungalows, the best nightlife on Sairee Beach. Where you should head down to Lotus bar for a few sangsom buckets.And you cannot possibly go to Koh Tao without learning to dive.I personally recommend Asia Divers, Or Big Blue!

I'm native born here so I will suggest you to go to Wat Pra Kaew near the Royal Palace even it's a tourist attraction but i think it will be worth to go there ! you will never get to see any place like this. Also if you like the nightlife, you can go to Sukhumvit Road or Khaosan Road it depends on what kind of nightlife you like...Sukhumvit is more like clubbing but Khaosan Road always full with foreigners and tourists who love nightlife. The teenager's part is Siam ! you can take a BTS there.Finally, please beware of your wallet all the time ! there are lots of pickpokets in bkk ! hope you have fun there like i do !

Its a litle city in the nord of thailand to acces to trekking...

The local name for Nakhon Ratchasima is Korat. That means city of cows. I can't say anything objective about this place as I found the love of my life here, y'see. It is much larger as mentioned in the common travel books, but not famous for anything in particular. There's a United States airbase nearby (locals tell me it was an important station during Vietnam war when the US air forces bombed the ho chi minh trail and thus making Laos the most bombarded country in the world by the way) and so twice a year the city is visited by them soldiers. And hookers form Bangkok as well. So my advise is, when travelling there, don't chose these periods. People are friendly, but still looking at farangs (western people) as weirdos from another planet. Two big malls where you find any food. Korat is the door to Isan, the highly populated region in Thailand's north-east. So every National holiday or Buddha day, all the workers from Bangkok go back visiting their families, producing traffic jam and making the city a bit unpleasant.
