It's been 10 years, but if you stay in downtown Selcuk, Ephesis and Maryemma are easy walks. A really fun thing to do is rent a car for the day and go visit Didema and Priene. While it may be seductive and romantic to take a 15 hour bus ride from Istanbul to Kusadasi, don't. While Turkey is one of my favorite countries, am not a big fan of their transport system. The bus route is not safe for women travellers.
