    Entebbe, Central Uganda, Uganda
Hire a driver or take one of the many little motorcycle rides if you have to go anywhere. There is almost no order or yeilding in Ugandan traffic. The most aggressive driver gets the right of way. The traffic circles are very intimidating and there are a lot of them. If you are not accustom to driving in local conditions, don't even try it.

    Jinja, Uganda
If you're stayin in the city of Jinja and want to go to the source of the nile, ask someone which matutu (comunity bus) goes to the nile breweries. one has to pay the driver in the bus. At the breweries, take a bodaboda (one of these motoroller taxis), it's maybe a 20min ride with the bodaboda and reaaaly nice! Don't forgot to bargain bout the price! they mostly ask twice or thrice too much!

    Gulu, Northern Uganda, Uganda
there's a great cafe in town called kope cafe - try out the treehouse and meet the guys that work there from a local youth program called HEALS. top smoothies too! they were also having a photography exhibition by some local kids when i was there. pretty special stuff!

you can almost get by just walking around gulu, but if it's too hot, you can always grab a boda-boda (motorbike taxi) for about a dollar anywhere. 8000Ush is about equal to a USdollar.

it's better to get your shillings organised in Kampala or another bigger city before you get to Gulu...they do have a Barclays bank but by the time you get into town it'll probably be late - as the bus from Kampala takes between 6 and 7 hours.

Gulu has been quite peaceful for the last 2 years, the LRA activity has lessened considerably in the area, however, some countries may warn their citizens not to travel in northern uganda at present.

    Suam, Uganda
Suam is a small border post on the slopes of Mount Elgon. The travel tip is that the road from Kitale is only 40km but is like the surface of the moon - don't do it in the rains; it took hours. The Ugandan side is over 100km around the mountain rather than 40km over the top (26 of that on tarmac) and they won't let you drive over in the rains.

Prepare for the worst traffic you have ever experienced. Worse than Manhattan and L.A.

    Jinja, Uganda
Jinja, when on the bus your'll get travel shock from seeing the streets. Many shops are in containers, the roads are dangerous to drive on (so make sure you driven everywhere!) and the random animals wandering about like cows makes life a little trickier too.

    Kampala, Central Uganda, Uganda
The road trip on coach from Kigali to Kampala is a convenient overnight trip - but beware of the road. The bumps are serious - you can hit the roof several times on that trip if you are not careful, and the whole thing leaves you feeling pretty mangled by the end of the trip.

    Entebbe, Central Uganda, Uganda
If you are taking one of the motorbike taxis (Boga-bogas) to the airport, be warned that these are stopped a fair distance before the actual airport. Which means one has to walk the remaining distance. So take a car taxi instead.
