Crimea Region, Ukraine
Instead of going to the typical tourist places like Yalta, where you pay over the odds for everything, try learning to read Russian (so you can read menus!!) and go to the smaller, much cheaper villages which are full of lively friendly people!Be prepared to indulge in a few vodka's and try the Champagne from Novy Svet!!Sudak, Simeiz, can both be recommended!!Good luck. Take a train overnight from Odessa to Simferopol, 1st class and its part of the holiday!!Enjoy.

Yalta, Crimea Region, Ukraine
Yalta is quite a nice little place to base yourself for a few days. The sea is lovely here and you can take boat trips out. Its also easy to head up into the hills for a day from the town. Lavadia Palace is also worth a look, it was a 'holiday home' for Tsar Nicholi II and his family, and also used for the infamous conference between Stalin,. Churchill and Rosevelt at the end of WWII. Very interesting.
