Airport security have NO sense of humor.

the dragon mart was an absolute waste of time..its not worth going so far just to see small Chinese stalls half of which are not even open for sale...not worth it!!!

Wherever you stay, proximity to water is a must, whether its the beach or a pool, water is the key to having a cool time in Dubai

Dubai is indeed a 'Do and Buy' place to be with large shopping malls that you can really shop till you drop. However, I must say that getting around in Dubai is difficult without cabs which can cost a lot if you are on a budget trip. Luckily for me, my hotel is just a few minutes walk to a large shopping mall and I spent my time there before my tour excursion. The sundune dinner I went to was really marvellous. It started off by a short city round about on a jeep before heading further out to the Desert Conservation Reserve. Viewing sunset in the desert is a unique experience.

Do not go to dubai if you haven't saved much money.....there is lots of shopping to do A very hot and humid place so pack light

Believe some famous Cricket matches played there. Not as big as Dubai, or progressive, or developed but has a charm. Recommend the souk.

Go on the desert adventure. Imagine yourself in a SUV in the middle of the great desert driving over the dunes. You will end your evening riding camels and enjoying a great meal in a village in the middle of the desert. Wonderful.

Dubai is a very interesting country, its great to use as a stopover when travelling towards asia or australia, the waterpark is the best and the sun always shines in Dubai.

Drink plenty of water, its like walking out of a green house into an oven.White sand is an instant attraction,the Hotels are out of this World, (if they do something its big WAW)!The shopping mall (biggest in the world) is amazing. Visit this late afternoon, then shop all night with the locals who suprisingly avoid the sun. !! This is a different life altogether.

Make sure you go to Wild Wadi, Ski Dubai and if you book early, afternoon tea at the Burj al Arab.
