Dubai is indeed a 'Do and Buy' place to be with large shopping malls that you can really shop till you drop. However, I must say that getting around in Dubai is difficult without cabs which can cost a lot if you are on a budget trip. Luckily for me, my hotel is just a few minutes walk to a large shopping mall and I spent my time there before my tour excursion. The sundune dinner I went to was really marvellous. It started off by a short city round about on a jeep before heading further out to the Desert Conservation Reserve. Viewing sunset in the desert is a unique experience.

taxi is a big big problem in Dubai.. its not difficult to get one but the problem is the long queues u have to stand in ti get one..and one might end up standing for over an hour!! but friends don't be disappointed! the metro rail is under construction and will be completed and operational by 2010!! just to add a bit more.. i think universal studios is opening in 2009 in Dubai.. its on way to Al Ain..on the freeway that is..

For some reason, it's near impossible to hail a cab by yourself. Your best bet would be to get one through your hotel -- otherwise, don't count on an easy ride.

It`s impossible to walk or get around with public transport-the only way is taxi or your own car!

If you are planning a holiday in Dubai, don't stay in Sharjah and commute every day ...... the traffic is impossible

Dubai its a small city but when you go there you will see it big and you can get what ever you like you can go shopping and the prices its ok but you can get what ever you want and we call it the city of dreams and it has the tollest tower in the world its called Dubai tower and we have burju alarab its the beggest hotel in the world with 7 stars and this year they will open or next year the beggest mall in the world ever called Dubai mall so we have lots of things over there so you can enjoy many things over here you can have fun in many things for adult and for kids .

Travel with taxi its cheap comfy, restaurants are not expensive,amazing buildings, be careful its very very HOT!!!!!

Be prepared to sit around for hours in traffic and don't bank on getting a bus if you're a woman. They are perfectly safe, but the tiny women only section at the front fills up fast and you won't be allowed on when it is.
