Bath, England, United Kingdom Don't go there with big cars. The city is really small and the streets are narrow as hell.... Good tip? (0) Bath, England, United Kingdom Did you know that the Bath Road in Slough down what is now the A4 is an old Roman road that was originally built to link Slough with Bath? I wonder if it also went up to London, have to investigate that one further. Good tip? (0) Bath, England, United Kingdom After 5, nearly everything is closed, so unless you're just there to walk around, get there early. And plan for freeway/A road delays, just to be safe
Also, there are extensive free tours offered by the tourism office, a few locations through the city. Good tip? (0) Bath, England, United Kingdom Take a bus I bought a ticket for one of the double decker tour busses. It's a great way to get around the city. There are advantages to getting around this way. The ticket is good all day and you can get on and off the bus as often as you like. Bath is relatively small but it's a quick way to get from place to place, especially if you're short on time. It makes frequent stops and runs regularly. Also we were able to ride it up above the city into part of the countryside. This afforded beautiful views of Bath and was a little off the beaten path. Good tip? (0) Bath, England, United Kingdom The Train or the Bus I was living in Oxford when I visited Bath. It's easy to get to from both Oxford and London. There are frequent (and relatively cheap) trains and busses from both cities. Just check the schedules. On the way home, in fact, we missed our bus back to Oxford and took a train to London and then a bus home easily. Good tip? (0) Bath, England, United Kingdom Bath, England (UK) is a long bus trip from London but worth the visit. Best bet is a combo tour from London to Stonehenge to Bath. Take the bus or train and leave the car in London. Be sure to visit the real Roman spa in Bath.See authentic Roman historical artifacts dating back 2000 years. Also look around at the beatuiful Georgian homes. Good tip? (0) Bath, England, United Kingdom go down widcombe hill on a mini skateboard, great fun! Good tip? (0)
