Yey, I was born in Bristol, in Fishponds in 69 the best year. Bristol has the most wicked night life, many a good night in Romeo Juliets, Busbys, Henry Africas (showing my age) Many good meals and wines in Clifton Whiteladies Road, Shopping in Bristol rocks and if you're that way inclined the girls are pretty easy (not me tho cos I moved to Bath lol) oh and the accent is baaaaad!

I went to Uni in Bristol for 4 years, and I think the best parts of the city and Bristol I remember were, firstly the suspension bridge as its just a great symbol of what Brunel did in the city, Broadmead has some great shops, Clifton is just swanky, and if you can get up Cabot's tower it offers really great views

Nice place but I was trenched cause it was one of the rainiest days in Britain's history. I'd like to go over again for a little longer.

My travel tip for Bristol is get there by Megabus if you're going from London. It'll almost certainly cost you a fifth or less than the train. It's probably cheaper from elsewhere as well.
And bring decent shoes if you're planning to go anywhere without a car. The hills are immense.
And, uh, don't hang around on the Downs on your own. Noooot good.

Gateway to the west country. University city with a great cosmopolitan feel. Lots of history here as it was one of the key ports for the transportation of slaves to the New World (West Indies and USA). Imports to this city in the days of sailing ships included wine and tobaco.
