If you are looking for a really good and relatively cheap hostel: Globetrotter Inns of London (as well as Edinburgh) is a great opportunity! Breakfast included and really nice staff.

If possible, take the most information possible about hotels, as they can be quite surprising (in a bad way!)

Spent only 5 days there,but it was great.Once you see London,you'll wanna come again as soon as possible or maybe never wanna go back home.The most exciting city I've ever seen.

Heathrow Airport isn't a very cosy place to sleep!!!

I can recommend the Queens Park Hotel, cheap and very close to Queensway underground station.

The Generator hostel is a great hostel to stay at if you like party hostels. It has an excellent bar with a great atmosphere, drink specials, drinking games etc. Beds start from GBP12.50 and is located a few minutes walk from Russell Square Tube Station, on the Picadilly line. This is pretty handy for getting to and from Heathrow.

It really a gorgeous experience to visit Tate Modern Museum Shakespeare Globe ! If u travel London during summer, don't miss the Drama @ Shakespear Globe! For shopping, Top Shop is a smart choice for buying trendy items, clothing with a reasonable price! For backpackers, EasyHotel is a new tidy budget hotel~ the location is close to city and u can reach there by Underground conveniently.

for a touch of luxury try the Langham Hotel, beautiful old building in a great location

ohhh, amazing city, I love it absolutely!! be sure not to miss great London clubs: the End with Timo Maas playing the whole night on 99% party and 414 in Brixton - great after-party club. It's a bit dirty, but you will be amazed by the music and the athmosphere! do not waste your time on Ministry of Sound - it's too touristic. As for the hotels, they are really expensive in London. But taxis are even more expensive. So better chose central location, it will pay off with the opportunity to walk back to your hotel in the middle of the night! ) specially, i loved Saint-Martins Lane by Philippe Stark - it's chic and lovely!
