If you're touring East Anglia then Ipswich is a good place to start. As a town the interest for tourists is seemingly restricted but there's more to do than it seems at first. If you like old buildings then have a walk through the town and look above the shops, look out for the ancient house on the Buttermarket. Ipswich has a huge amount of park land that's very well maintained, if you want to go out for a picnic or just a walk in the park then there are many places. Ipswich museum is on the small side but worth a visit. Christchurch Mansion is the main tourist destination and it's free.
