Don't be afraid to get off the beaten track and explore, find a cheap, good place to stay and use as a base then hire a car or a motorbike and drive out everyday, away from all the tourist areas, you will see much more and find hidden treasures, without the crowds and high prices.

Sheffield is a postindustrial city with some rather interesting modern architecture and typical English private houses, nice green streets, but there are more impressive cities in U.K. Loved the Peak District - fantastic landscapes with funny sheeps:)

Before was city with havy steel industry, now mostly students city with two big Universtys (Sheffield and Hallam) There is also Meadowhall, one of the biggest European shooping centers. Two big football clubs ; Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United.
