Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom it smells of ass, come to edinburgh instead! Good tip? (0) Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom drab and grey place. NEDS (Non Educated Delinquent) /chavs in abundance. Good tip? (0) Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom Get a cheap flight and stay at the grand hostel in Ayr, just outside of Galway, and get yourself an included marvellous breakfast! Good tip? (0) Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom Be aware of your meals at night time! Most of the restaurants work with apointments, so it is very hard to get into a good restaurant. Ther is one very good one, more Tapas style, the name is something with florantina... I will look it up and add it later! It is a blue restaurant, with a bit of white, nearby a busstop.
We will not suggest the Euro-hotel. It is a bit durty, you don't get the things you pay for, there is not a lot to do, and at night time the room downstairs is a pub... If you are with more than 3 people the towels are not included... If you just stop by, and only be there one night you might can stand it. Breakfast is ok.
It is a very alive city with a lot of pubs and nightclubs.
Easily get lost... there are things to see, but we didn't found them!
Walking is the best way to get around, you can also go by bus, but it cost money that you can save by walking, that way you also see more. Busses are ok, and the prices are fine Good tip? (0) Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom Go and get a nice cold beer MUST! Good tip? (0) Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom Favourite cafe: Cafe Gandolfi (and the Merchant City is great for shops and architecture); hidden history - the Merchant City which got its money from tobacco and the slave trade; favourite museum: Burrell Collection (and take a walk through Pollok Park to visit the Highland cattle and Pollok House; great cakes: Pollok House; favourite shop: Waterstone's book shop in Sauchiehall Street (you can spend all day in there!); good places to meet in that part of Glasgow: cafe at Waterstone's or the CCA; good films: Glasgow Film Theatre or try the multiplex UGC on West Nile Street; interesting theatre - try the Citizens; cutting edge (or completely barmy) art stuff - the Tramway is a must (also good place for kids, for sitting/eating/reading, and for fresh air in the Hidden Gardens). For a different experience, go to the university area: Byres Road, for shops and cafes, and Kelvingrove Museum (one of the most visited in Britain). For Mackintosh - there's the house at the Hunterian Museum Art Gallery - and amazing Glasgow Art School - for real fans, though, the Hill House at Helensburgh is a must! Good tip? (0) Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom An umbrella....its always raining Good tip? (0) Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom Go to the first Starbucks you see and get addicted like me Good tip? (0) Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom Lots of cool clubs around the city centre, look for either Sauchiehall Street to the north of the city centre,or Queen Street,to the South East of the city centre for the cool places to hang out Good tip? (0) Rutherglen, Scotland, United Kingdom Pretty much a run down area in Glasgow :) Good tip? (0) |
