Go to the South Rim in Arizona.....it is further than the North Rim from Las Vegas but you see the trueness of it.

Make sure you do a helicopter flight over/into the Canyon - by far the best way to see it !!! :)

Beautiful. Just bring a flashlight when coming here at night. It is very dark and not much lighting provided.

The Grand Canyon is a truly amazing place. Consider a visit in the winter when the crowds are much smaller. We visited in December and though it was cold, the views of the Canyon's south rim were wonderful and it was easy to get around Grand Canyon Village.

If you want to go down the canyon, get up at two o'clock in the morning and watch the sunrise from down there - no people around you. Take your breakfast with you. If you start your way back up to the plateau by half past seven, you'll be back again by ten. (before the masses of tourists and the moulis get in your way). Buy Ice and fill it in your bottle.

Don't try and see how far you can throw a rock into the canyon. People will tell you off because there are tourists taking treks down there!

For a very good meal, eat at the El Tovar Dining Room . The service is quite good, and the food is excellent. The portions are large so consider splitting your main course, especially if you plan desert. You have to make reservations but you do not have to dress up.
