Chevy Chase is a great area to just hang out, have diner and enjoy the company of others. If you're in the DC area, you should go check it out!

Cherry Blossom festival in the spring is the best time to visit D.C.. Tourism speaks for itself, being the nation's capital. Nightlife is quaint; almost fun. The college bar scene is the best. Hotels are best found on Hotwire. The subway system is the best I've seen so far. Bring extra comfortable shoes to walk through all there is to see.

The Gaylord National Resort is an amazing place to stay and/or have a convention. We were there of the 4th of July--and they did an amazing job with everything! We got a fountain, lights, fireworks and music show on the 3rd. They brought in all sorts of people so that the kids could make a hat, get a balloon thing made, have their faces painted, decorate a flag, watch juggling etc. while we enjoyed the atmosphere and waited to eat at the sports restaurant! Just a really fun place to be! The glassed in atrium was beautiful! We sat on our porch and enjoyed the fireworks! The rooms are very nice and the staff was helpful. I highly recommend this hotel!

To avoid the expense of Taxis or a rental car, make sure your hotel is within a couple blocks of a metro station and fly into Reagan National aiport, which has a metro station on site.

It cheaper to take an hotel in Arlington by the airport, the subway is directly in the airport or there one exit in the parking lot of the Costco nearby and its maybe 20 minutes from the center (Congress, Washington monument and museums)
