Orlando, Florida, United States Another great city I know as well like my pocket :-)
I've been there for some months and survived few hurricanes and it wasnt that bad at all.. Hmm.. like I used to start from the hostel - one of the best ideas is to find apartment and rent it with friends, actually all of them has own pool so after long hot day you can enjoy nice eve and cooling in water :-) and no crocodiles or aligators in it!!!
For most of the time i stayed close to International Drive, one of the main roads, in front of the Sea World, but you can also find nice places in Kissimmee or Buena Vista. There are some places that live only latin or caribean people but this is also good oportunity to learn some spanish :-)
To move there and around the best idea is renting car in famous places on international airport like Hertz or other (but you need debit card) or move with the buses which have great conection with all of the most important places like shopping centers, hospitals, down town and all of attractions
What to see besides Disney World? hmm.. You definitely must go to Wet'n'Wild the best aquapark ever :-) You cannot miss Universal Studios too, and if you love diving and nature then should try swimming with delfins in Discovery Cove! There is many mini-crazy golfs parks for young and old and created with such a fantasy! Where make shopping? Belz Factory Outlet at West Oakridge, Florida Mall, Walgreens at International Drive..
Where to eat? I always liked and enjoyed Fridays with their hot (spicy) meals, original italian food at very familiar Olive Garden restaurant on International Drive but they are many many more to see and try! I cant say if thats worthy to go to discos because for the half of the year which i spent over there i have been there only once, but i can definitely recomend going to Down Town at night and take some walk and drink.. lovely atmosphere though people will tell you very risky and dangerous, but what is not dangerous on the world, come on :-)
To know more.. get a Lonely Planet travel guide or send me message, lol Good tip? (0) Orlando, Florida, United States Take full advantage of the buses when going to and from the theme parks. They have great bus drivers, who know the roads, and are entertaining while your on your way. Good tip? (0) Orlando, Florida, United States The roads tend to be a bit rocky, so be sure to brace yourself Good tip? (0) Orlando, Florida, United States When ur in Orlando,b prepared 4 d afternoon showerz dere..it rains evry afternoon dere..but it jst 4 an hr or so... Good tip? (0) Orlando, Florida, United States When going to Disneyworld Get Birnbaum Guide's to Disneyworld its informative but also intreasting. Good tip? (0) Orlando, Florida, United States If you're going to any of the theme parks check and see if your hotel has transportation to the theme parks because you can get there much quicker on one the theme park's buses than you would in your own car. Plus if you ride the bus, you don't pay for parking or gas. Good tip? (0) Orlando, Florida, United States Do not open windows when on bus, even if the air con does not work you are basically dying in the heat. You WILL get shouted at by the driver BIG TIME. What the hell ?.......... Good tip? (0) Orlando, Florida, United States Public transport is not great so make sure that you rent a car.Make sure you visit Sea World its amazing. Good tip? (0) Orlando, Florida, United States We drove around and surprisingly, the drivers were polite...no cutting you off, etc. Of course, you have to see Walt Disney World if you go to Orlando, but we also went to Universal Studios and the Hard Rock cafe. Our kids seemed to like Universal Studios better since they were teens and there's more to do for older kids there.
We went there through Make a Wish and were treated to an awesome stay at a place called Give Kids the World, ran entirely by volunteers. Donations are what keeps the place running. Great place for terminally ill kids and their families! Good tip? (0) Orlando, Florida, United States hotels are easy to find. the food is amazing..especially the local chineese take-out yum... and a steak and shake is always close by. walking is a great way to enjoy the city, but apparently everyone else likes to walk in the evenings too.
