    Baltimore, Maryland, United States
Parking close to Camden Yards is expensive ($20 when I was there to see an O's/Yankees game) but worth it.  Baltimore is a town of dodgy neighborhoods (that goes without saying, right?) so you'll be glad you spent the extra money to keep yourself and your automobile safe.

    Baltimore, Maryland, United States
Pack some heat... Baltimore is about as depressing and dangerous as American cities come. Let's put it this way: Don't go here unless you have to.

    Greenbelt, Maryland, United States
Don't be caught here late at night. I was only there for my thesis project in 2002, and I haven't gone back since.

    Hurlock, Maryland, United States
This is an incredibly lame city on Maryland's eastern shore, no offense to the two friends I have that are from there. There is no nightlife, no real places to camp, it does have that weird Eastern shore charm to it, like Easton or Cambridge, but it's not as pretty. Cops will pull you over there...A LOT!

Okay I only have one thing to say: STAY NEAR THE INNER HARBOR OR THE STADIUMS. If you've seen "The Wire" then you should know that the rest of Baltimore is not the place to be. I know it's a TV show but I went to B-More over the summer and believe me....they should call that reality TV. Baltimore is bad. Around the inner harbor area it's nice but other than that....no.

Stay away from non-harbor areas, say no to panhandlers and always carry a bottle with water (In summer!)

    Assateague Island, Maryland, United States
Assateague can be a fun place to camp on the beach. The island is unique, especially because of the miniature horses that run wild there. They were marooned by a Spanish ship wreck, I believe, and have adapted to the little island by growing smaller.
However, there are two major cautions.
    1) Avoid the inland side of the island, it's covered in mosquitoes.
    2) Avoid the hottest days of summer; the horses can go a bit wonky with the heat.
