I only spent a weekend but learned quickly to get a daily subway pass since you can easily travel to most destinations by subway. Also I stayed at a hotel called Club Quarters but you can only reserve a room on hotwire.com and saved a bundle and had a room downtown just one block from the subway.

go on the duck tours or take a tour of one of the many fine museums. great restaurants!!
