Carlsbad, New Mexico, United States
A lot of my friends like wild, unspoiled caves, in as close to a natural state as possible - in other words, wet, dank holes in the ground. I hate those caves. I like caves with lighted trails, elevators and snack bars that look like sets from a 1960s sci-fi movie. If you're like me, then Carlsbad Cavern is for you. Also, it's still amazingly beautiful, despite all the human fingerprints on everything.

These caves are huge, and there is a shopping center at the bottom. It smells a little, but it was bearable. Wear slip resistant shoes, no heels. It was very interesting and fun to do, even though I was very young when I went. A flashlight isn't necessary, and I don't even know if you are allowed to have them.

Carlsbad Caverns is a MUST. Unless you hate bats. Then you should avoid. Seeing millions of bats spirialing upwards out of a gaping hole is a sight few get to see, and it's one you won't want to miss. It is truely amazing.

Carlsbad, is a small town, with a few things to see. The main attraction are the Carlsbad Caverns, with are worth checking out. There is alot of walking involved, but the stalagmites, and stalagties are worth the walk. Take a jscket, as it is cold in the carverns.

The Carlsbad Caverns are a must see if you are passing through this small town. At dusk you can watch thousands of bats fly from the cave for their nightly hunt. Sure to please the kiddies.
