Ithaca is a place to see mini things...tiny waterwalls in winter around the Cornell campus seemed to have frozen in time to create a magical world of crystalline delight. Watch out for caribou when you drive along the hills!

Beautiful!!! If you go to see anything while in Ithaca, go see this Falls. It is 215-foot high at the end of a wide and wooded 3/4mile gorge! Instead of taking the path we trecked bare foot up the river which was quite shallow at the time. It felt more like an achievement by the time we got to the Falls. There is also a park by the lake, camping grounds, rentable cabins, playground, pinic areas, etc.

Nothing more then a few house... Pretty views of Cayuga lake...

Bring a rain coat and eat at the Moosewood!

Stay at a BB outside the town - they're friendly, in close proximity and that much more comfortable!

Spent one month at Cornell University in the early eighties with my husband. We lived on the campus.

The nicest, most wonderful place on earth. People are open, friendly, intelligent, tolerant, creative, and loving. Cornell University towers over the blue waters of Cayuga lake in all her majesty. Some of the best libraries I know. Waterfalls are magical here and the nature is pristine. Of course, this is also my home town. :)

Interlaken area is quite nice during the autumn. Other than watching the leaves change, there isn't a whole lot to do in Interlaken. There are a couple Bed Breakfast's in the area (my personal fav. is the Driftwood Inn). If you keep going to Ithaca there's a lot more sightseeing and activities, but its going to be more expensive to stay overnight in Ithaca versus Interlaken.
