You may want to reconsider going to this particular place during the summer. When the snow melts, theres a different species of mosquito, they are slightly larger than ordinary ones. They come out day and night when the snow begins to melt. A park ranger called them "Snow Mosquitos" they come out even when its around 50 degrees. And they come in hordes, lolz like every time we tryed to stop and take pics, we were covered in at least 20 to 50 with in seconds. My advice would be to either not go there, go during the winter when the roads are covered in 10-20ft of snow, or take pictures from inside your car.

Crater lake is an absolutly amazing view in any season! Every season the lake and volcano look different.

If you are wanting to take a dip in the strikingly blue waters, be prepared to be extremely cold!
