Philadelphia Travel Guide
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States Go to the top of the library's stairs running like crazy, raise both your hands in glory and yell... Adrian!!!! Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States Philadelphia to most is not a great city. However once in Phlly many never turn back. The native Philadelphians rarely leave and defend their city with all of their energy.
I, myself am a convert from New York. Philadelphia initially wasn't so great from my perspective but there's a lot to see and do. There's been tremendous improvement over the last decade.
Philly has some of the best eats around. There is always a new opening of a restaurant and the variety is really great. You can always find something unique regardless of the neighborhood you're in.
The other thing about Philadelphia is that it's a city of neighborhoods with distinct cultures and offerings for the city. The Center City is the CBD and just outside of Center City is University City where many colleges are. Philadelphia is another college town (after Boston). While the concentration is very much in University City there are a myriad of post high school institutions that span the city's borders.
Now Philadelphia is in change. A new Mayor, new buildings, 'renovation' of the city.
Woodbury, New Jersey, United States U can find the LARGEST OUTLET SHOPPING OF USA there. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States There is a dessert place in Philly (i think the gay area) that has THE best homemade applepie..each pie is about the size of a Thanksgiving turkey!!! I believe the place is called "not just ice cream" or something like that..worth the side trip to get a slice... outrageous Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States fun fun fun, lots of history my fav Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States My first stop in Philly is to Gino's. Best cheesesteak ever. My husband always gets two. One for now and one for later. Make sure you have cash as that is their perferred form of payment. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States lots of crime so watch out. center city is always worth a visit as well as falling water
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States Here's some irony... The WORST Philly-Cheesesteak sandwich that I've ever eaten, I got in Philadelphia!
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States Forget Pat or Geno's, the best cheesesteak sandwiches are at James' Cheesesteaks on South Street. And, for some good wholesome fun at a neighborhood (gay) piano bar you have to visit the Tavern on Camac....located on, you guessed it, Camac right in Center City.
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States To get a great view of the city go up to the viewing platform on the town hall, leave plenty of time to book it because their are very limited places. Be prepared for security at the liberty bell and constitutional hall. The duck tours are also good fun.
