It takes a whole day to see just the historical part of Philadelphia. Independence Hall is ok, however if you don't know american history it is a lot of talk about stuff you know nothing about. The Liberty bell is probably the better thing to go see if you are not a history wizz. Remember to get your tickets for Independence hall before you go to get in line, otherwise you end up running back and forth. if you need a simple but clean place to stay near the hotel, try the microtel.

We flew up to Philly for a weekend trip and had a blast. I found a great deal on the Loews Hotel in downtown. I highly recommend this hotel. Very nice and friendly service. Nice bar downstairs and just across the street from Hard Rock. We had an amazing night view of the city. We spent one day going to the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, etc...A little different from National Treasure but what a neat experience! You have to eat lunch at the City Tavern! If you like warm drinks (with lots of alcohol) order a Tavern Warmer. Whew! At night, take a cab to Geno's and King Pat's. In my opinion, the food and service were much better at King Pat's but I had to have a Geno's t-shirt. Neat experience. I passed on going to see the Rocky statue. There was a Macy's 2 blocks over from our hotel.

At the Crowne Plaza hotel on City Avenue, say that you're visiting St. Joe's and then they only charge you $99/night +tax

Philadelphia is a fabulous city, great history, phenomenal restaurants and great nightlife. If you stay near Rittenhouse Square (I personally like Sofitel Hotel)you will find everything you could possibly hope for within walking distance. Great shopping, historical sites and restaurants. Easy taxi ride to Museum District, Society Hill and 6th Street nightlife.

A great city full of our nations history. I have had alot of fun here.

Very dangerous, but its a really great city! Very active, with lots to do. Sure to keep you busy. Great for entertainment. Concerts, museums, shopping, amazing theatrical programs, etc.
