Philly is definitely a city! There's plenty of public transportation, as well as amazing restaurants featuring an extensive array of foods, and exciting sights. South street is not all it's cracked up to be, but I'd recommend walking down anyway. It does have the highest homicide rate, but as long as you're aware of your surroundings, and walk with friends, you'll be fine.

Please be patient on the road.

I'd highly recommend avoiding the Philly Phlash bus service, especially if it's cold outside! Also, for the tram service, hold on tight because they accelerate very quickly...

A great city full of our nations history. I have had alot of fun here.

When driving make sure to have somewhat of an idea where you are going. When I was in Philadelphia there were some areas where people had taken the street signs making it very difficult to navigate, especially in the bad areas of town.

The Philadelphia tourist bus - the "Phlash" - is a very good value at 2 usd per ride or 5 usd per day, and is the best way to get to far away places (for example Philadelphia Museum of Art).

I wasn't there very long but i went in october and its very nice as far as temperature goes. The people are busy but willing to help out if you need it. There is A LOT of sightseeing to do so you have to get a pamphlet when you arrive at the airport. There are taxies, car rental companies, busses, and airports as far as transportation goes and the city rarely sees smog. If going in the winter, bring a coat! Also, if you're a tourist, bring lotsa money cause there is stuff you'll want to buy. Keep in mind what you'll actually use though. Spending is an easy thing to do there.

Very dangerous, but its a really great city! Very active, with lots to do. Sure to keep you busy. Great for entertainment. Concerts, museums, shopping, amazing theatrical programs, etc.

Philly is a great city with lots of sightseeing. The transportation is alright, you can take the bus,the subway, the train, or a cab. We preferred walking though, so we could sightsee. Shopping is GREAT in Philly, I came across lots of unique original stores and their mall is great. Food and Restaurants are everywhere in Philly there is no shortage there what so over. I am from the south though so I was a little saddened to see that they didn't have real sweet tea but that's my only complaint and its minute at that. The locals there were very nice to me also. So my advice? Go to Philly it's a great city but like anywhere be careful :)

Don't take Greyhound f/m LA to Philly. Man it sucked! If you do, fight for the 3cushion seat in the back so you can stretch a bit.
