Travel Tips - Hotels & AccommodationsWall, South Dakota, United States Stay at the Sunshine in over by the t-shirt store. The owner will likely be hanging outside, in the street. At least, he was the day we got there. Nice room, creepy little box of donuts in the office for breakfast and ample parking. Good tip? (0) Wall, South Dakota, United States For miles while traveling across South Dakota with my father, we saw signs for "Wall." Nothing more explained, so that just peaked our interest and had to check it out. We finally get there, and Wall, itself, it the United States largest Drug Store. And not just a store, it had it's own Animatronic Tyrannosaurus! It was not just in the town of Wall, it WAS Wall. I have to say it had a lot to offer for being labeled a "Drug Store." Good tip? (0) Hill City, South Dakota, United States The best place to stay is the Hill City KOA. Bring your camper and partake in the 2 swimming pools, the water slide, the fishing pond, the stables, or the fabulous ice cream! Close to Mt Rushmore - it's in the center of the Black Hills. Good tip? (0) Mitchell, South Dakota, United States The Corn Palace is one of the biggest attractions in Mitchell during Tourist season! Good tip? (0) Murdo, South Dakota, United States My tips for Murdo:
1. Stay at Sioux Motel! Great experience. Hope yours is, too.
2. Eat the beef. So good. So fresh. So CHEAP! And sometimes comes with Creme de Menthe ice cream. Good tip? (0) Hill City, South Dakota, United States cheaper than sturgis and close to the national monuments Good tip? (0) Keystone, South Dakota, United States Definitly stop here to visit! Stay at the Holiday Inn... it's nothing like other Holiday Inn's I've stayed at. This one is more like a mountain lodge at a ski resort. Very nice and you can walk the wooden raised sidewalk in this cowboy town. Good tip? (0) Sturgis, South Dakota, United States Plan on staying in one of the nearby town on motorcycle week unless you make your reservations real early. Good tip? (0) South Dakota, United States When on the west side of the state checking out the major sights like Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse is cool, but don't forget to check out the Badlands National Park and the city of Wall. Wall is a small little tourist trap but has some cool gifts and trinkets to bring home. The Badlands is an awesome location! Wake up early and check out the wildlife which includes bison, prong horn antelope, big horn sheep and prairie dogs! there are also some great vantages for pictures. Good tip? (0) Deadwood, South Dakota, United States Deadwood South Dakota - One of the most interesting historic towns in USA. First gambling hall in USA is in the basement next door to Franklin Hotel. In fact ealry Las Vegas developers came to Deadwood to see how to run a gambling hall. Down the street is Mt Rushmore and the fabulous Crazy Horse Memorial about 30 minutes from Mt. Rushmore.
