They have great stores at the Outlet Mall there.  They also have pretty good restaurants in the area.

this is a nice town and laid back (esp. for a girl from NJ!) many restaurants and bars, if you are visiting Dallas, fort worth is a must see. Drive to the center of town get out of your car and walk around, there are plenty of great texan restaurants for ribs and BBQ or south western/mexican. check out the old opera house too and at night it is lit up, beautiful.

I was very disappointed with Galveston, in general; however, take a look at the older parts of the city not destroyed by the hurricane you can find some really nice architecture.

There is a little diner that serves gyros somewhere in this town. I ate there when I worked at the Nokia plant in North Ft. Worth.

I think they have a mall here. Probably more gun stores than shoe stores. Oh, and a rodeo...seriously, a fucking rodeo.
