The KOA campground next to Devil's Tower shows "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" every night at 8PM during the summer. Seeing that movie with the actual Tower brighly lit by a full moon is downright spooky.

Devils Tower National Monument - Most famous for being in the movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". There is a cost to visit the park. However if you are a Senior Citizen or someone goes with you that is a Senior Citizen then have them to get the Senior Pass. This pass is good a most national parks and cuts down the cost of entering. You can go to the Visitors Center and Gift Shop to take great pictures of the monument. You are able to climb the monument but Native Indians do have religious ceremonies which it is requested that you do not climb during this time - Ask the park when it is available. To get the best pictures without really a crowd there is a small dirt road easily accessible even with a small car. It is just down the road to the right when driving from the visitors center. The visitors area was packed but when I went to the dirt road my truck was the only one there. There you get the best pictures - This was information given to me from one of the park rangers. You will deal with a few insects such as a bee or two and mosquitoes in this small area.
