Hai Long, Central Vietnam, Vietnam
Great place to relax and unwind after travelling the rest of the country. Its quieter than some other places, but I thought much better. Beautiful resorts that are cheap cheap cheap! Must try the kite surfing! As with the rest of the country, the locals are warm and friendly.

Mui Ne is a strange little town. There is a great beach with lots of people parasurfing all day long, and nice little restaurants with good food, but not much else. The town caters to elderly German and Russian tourists, so the nightlife leaves a little to be desired if you're under the age of 40. However, if you want to just relax in the sun and be left alone, this is the place for you.

When in Mui Ne visit Jibes Bar/Restaurant for a really chilled out vibe, great staff and great food - they do happy hour on drinks in the early evening so you can catch the last of the day chilled out to the max on their sofas right on the beach - we idled away many a lazy afternoon on those sofas!
It looks a bit like just a surf shop from the road but walk through to the beach and bar.

For something chic also try Sankara at least once - it's not cheap but it's ever so pretty!
