I figure two things spurred my travel obsession from an early age. First was National Geographic magazine, which opened my eyes to the outside world full of different cultures, landscapes and people. Second, which I attribute to my preference for wildlife destinations, was watching Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. This classic TV series has been often imitated, and for good reason - it was the best! Aside from that, it is odd that I'm a travel addict. I come from a family of non-travellers. Lucki ... (con't)

I live in a small town in rural Nova Scotia, and while that may not sound very appealing to most people I really do think it’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been! We’re surrounded by the ocean and have so many natural wonders to enjoy that I couldn’t even begin to list them all. My heart will always be in Nova Scotia, but my feet seem to have other plans for me! When I was growing up I was addicted to history and the idea of traveling. I don’t remember wanting to be anything but ... (con't)

I'm 23, about to graduate as a vet (on Dec 6) and head to Africa for 2 months - my last big adventure before I join the real world and get a full-time job! My friend said 'You've really got a problem!' when I told her I was going overseas yet again. I hope to use my skills to work with Vets Without Borders one day. Travelling gives me a buzz like nothing else. I love meeting new people, hearing their stories, and immersing myself in their culture. I'm not sure where I got the travel bug from, as ... (con't)

My name is Tamara and I am a travel addict. I blame this on my grandparents for traveling to exotic locations when I was young and forcing me to look at all their photos...I have been hooked ever since! I love traveling so much that I pushed grad school and the "real world" aside for a few years so I could work at STA Travel, where I travel as much as possible and talk about it all day long. I try and take advantage of my job as much as possible. This past summer my fiance and I traveled for 45 ... (con't)

Born in Scotland to German & Italian parents I was probably always destined to be a nomad. With long Summers spent on family road trips across Europe I caught the travel bug at an early age. Leaving the Continent for the first-time in my early twenties on trips to Sri Lanka and India, a passion for Asia was ignited that culminated in me quitting my job and selling my house to set off alone with a backpack. Surprising both myself and those who know me, I taught English in an Indian slum, travelle ... (con't)

I live by a creed that was born of adventure. That creed is living, loving, and learning. I am passionate about life and always have been. Every new day presents a new opportunity to experience life, love, and learn. Travel adventures bring me great joy, deepening and enriching the quality of my life. The more I travel, the more I experience and learn. Andre Gide (1869-1951) may have said it best, “It is only in adventure that some people succeed in knowing themselves - in finding themselves.”. ... (con't)

When asked to describe me the two terms that my friends seem to use the most often are ‘adventurous’ and ‘lacking a sense of self-preservation’. These two traits combined have led to some very interesting adventures! When I travel I like to spend a lot of time in one country so that I get a decent feel for it rather than racing through, seeing the sites, taking a few pictures in front of famous statues and hitting the road again. I also like to get right off the beaten track and see beyond what’ ... (con't)

I didn't do much traveling as a kid, other than visits to Grandma's and the occasional day trip to nearby Toronto (where I now live). My first big family holiday was to Florida when I was eight years old, and as big Cubs baseball fans, we went to Chicago several times when I was a teenager. My parents didn’t fly or drive, so we always took the train or bus, which led to some wild times, like when we missed a train and had to chase it for 300km to the US border in a cab … *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ ... (con't)

I'm in my mid-30s and have been bitten by the travel bug in a big way for the past 10 years now. I was born in the UK but have lived in the US for most of my life. My great-grandparents traveled extensively and we hosted international families while I was growing up, so I've always had a good exposure to other cultures. I visited China in 1988 as part of a high school trip. In 1995 I read a couple's round-the-world trip blog and caught the RTW bug from then on. Finally in 1998 I took a 9-month l ... (con't)

I am a Arab born in Jeddah - Saudi Arabia. Due to my father's job we lived in Cairo & Aden. When I was 3 yrs old we immigrated to Singapore. At 20 I married an Englishman and set up our first home together in Oman. Our first child was born in Singapore in 1983 but we lived in Muscat-Oman.
