A carbon calculator is a tool that quantifies greenhouse gas emissions (the vast majority of which is carbon dioxide) from the travel activities and energy consumption related your trip. The total impact that is calculated is known as a �carbon footprint�, which is only part of an overall �environmental footprint.�

Carbon Offset Programs

Once the carbon footprint of your trip is calculated, you�ll be able to check out given options for donating to projects that will balance things out environmentally to create a net zero impact (this is known as being �carbon neutral�).
