I have always been fascinated with nature, history and culture. I started travelling on my own because of a documentary i saw about Australia when i was twelve. At this age i told my parents that i was going to travel to Australia for a year at least. No one believed me at first, but eventually everyone started realising that i was actually going. So as soon as i turned eighteen and got my drivers-license, i went! It was such a marvelous experience for me. Beeing out in nature, talking to all walks of life and living in another country. At first my plan was only to visit Aussie, but i ended up visiting Indonesia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Thailand as well. From that point on i got hooked to travelling. Every oppurtunity i got to travel, i took. Since then i've been in all kinds of travels and i won't stop any time soon.
There is always a long waiting line. There are two ways of avoiding this. One is go really early and second bribe a employee. First would be your best option, because the hermitage is huge. Were some good shoes when visiting the museum, and yes you will need all day. The building is beautiful from the inside, as well as the outside.
Beautiful place. Clear water and a great place to walk around. The amounts of tourist are the biggest downer and this will only get worse in the future. But still, it is an amazing place! One of Croatia's finest parcs.
Just one word is enough: Paradise! Great place to go sailing and thats not that expensive from Arlie Beach. Lots of boats leave the harbor daily, but still when sailing around the island you won't see much other boats. We were even lucky enough to swim next to a sea-turtle, and snorkling is great here. The white sandy beaches are fantastic, but please don't take the sand because in the future the might be no more beach left.
It is not much of an attraction. They are still working on restoring the citadel, but the budget and proces is much to slow. To only interesting part of the citadel is around the main entrance, were there is a big statue and a nice view.
I lived in Arnhem for a long time and this was always one of the best parks! Whenever i return to Arnhem i always feel like dropping by the park in every different season.
I used to work in a kebab shop on the Esplanada and from this hot position i always looked out on the lagoon. So after work it was a great place to swim and have a barbie (BBQ). It stays open so it doesnt really matter what time you arrive. By day it might be a bit dangerous to stay out in the sun, and they have UV-meters at the lagoon that can tell you how strong the sun will be. The Lagoon is necessary, because swimming in the see isn't much of a option. Crocodiles, Sharks and most importantly Jellyfish stalk the sea and the rivers, so the lagoon is the place to be!!
This is the biggest church in Arnhem and for that reason alone worth visiting. It's 30 meters high and offers an panoramic view on the city. You can reach the highest point of the church with a glass elevator. The church build started in 1450, but doe lack of money, it took a century to finish. At the end of World War II it was destroyed but was rebuild in 1961. Next to the church is a bar called the Waag, were you can still see the bullet holes from the heavy fighting. The epicentre of Operation market Garden was in Arnhem and this church is part of that history. Watch the movie: A Bridge to Far... Today it is under contruction, but the panoramic view is still open as well as the inside of the church.
I loved the Medina (old center) of Rabat. Especially the parts around the coast, where you have a spectulair view on the sea when sitting on the high castle walls. I also loved the blue walls in the inside and the garden, which gave a romantic atmosphere tot the place (Alot of young morrocan couples are here beeing very romantic ). Other parts of the medina, (its still pretty big in Rabat), consist of all kinds of shops (clothing, spices, fish and so on). Definitely visit this part of Rabat!
