A superb museum if you are interested in the origins of humankind. Where did we come from? How did we evolve? It doesn't matter if you are a stern believer of "God created Adam and Eve" or a evolutionary biologist, this place will satisfy your craving to learn more about the human ancestry.
There are many interactive multimedia displays combined with cutting-edge technology with the creative vision of some of South Africa’s foremost artists, the journey of discovery is extraordinary. Certainly not something you'd expect in a typical museum or art gallery. It portrays the the development of human civilisation through art, symbolism, and technology. I spent good 3 hours when I was there, and was totally amazed by the interactive components and the multimedia technology involved.
Located at the University of Witwatersrand (Wits) in Jo'berg, this place is easy to get to. The admission is 75 Rand (~USD10), and it's totally worth it!
